Engage your local area with hormones, with Society support

21 Mar 2018

The Society is offering financial support for you to share scintillating science in your local area, through the Big Bang Near Me fairs. Engage the public with hormones using Society tried-and-tested resources, or bring your own activity,

The Big Bang Near Me programme plays a vital role in inspiring the UK’s future scientists and engineers at a regional, local and school level. Through these events, young people are encouraged to pursue careers in STEM.

This is your opportunity to share your passion for the science of hormones, showcase that they are a vital aspect of everyday life across all ages, and help recruit the next generation of endocrinologists.

If you are interested, let us know before Friday 27 April.

We can only offer support to one location, so the one with the highest interest will be where we focus our resources.

The dates are:

  • Perth – 12 June 2018
  • Bristol – 27 June 2018
  • Liverpool – 10 July 2018

The Society will cover costs for the stand, your travel expenses to and from the venue, and up to £20 worth of food expenses.

If you are still hesitant and need more confidence before facing the crowds, the public engagement training provided by the Society can help you establish the foundations you need for science communication mastery.
