Sunday 17 May 9.20 -10.00am
As some of you may remember on May 2-3, 2014 in Gliwice, Poland Endocrine Cancer Workshop called “Endocrinology Meets Cancer” took place. This educational event was held as a satellite meeting of the 16th European Congress of Endocrinology in Wroclaw, last year. The Workshop was organized under auspices of Clinical Committee of European Society of Endocrinology and in close cooperation with European Society of Endocrinology, European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society, European Network for the Study of Adrenal Tumors and European Thyroid Association – Cancer Research Network, whose profiles are focused on thyroid cancer, adrenal cancer or neuroendocrine cancer.
The goal of the Workshop was to promote a closer relationship between the fields of endocrinology and oncology so that we can join forces to defect endocrine cancers. The result of this meeting was the initiation of the European Task Group for Endocrine Cancers (ETEC) as a platform of cooperation between endocrinologists dealing with endocrine oncology and oncologists.
A year on from that meeting, we need would like to answer the question of whether or not the spirit of this initiative is still alive and if endocrinologists still see this idea as an opportunity.
Please join us for a short meeting on Sunday 17 May 9.20 – 10.00 am to discuss ETEC and to vote for or against the initiative.
We hope many of you will come and say ‘yes’ to bring this idea to life!
