The objective of this symposium is to bring together leading clinicians and researchers worldwide, to present lectures on their first-hand experience on the central role of the hypothalamus in the regulation of feeding and energy metabolism; the role of the neuroendocrine system and adipokines in the development of obesity and congenital and acquired forms of obesity, due to hypothalamic dysfunction/damage in children, in order to gain insights into pathogenesis of common obesity. Participants will also have opportunity to discuss with the experts the available interventions for management of hypothalamic obesity which is a great challenge for all clinicians in the field.
