Do you fancy getting out of the lecture theatre/lab/hospital for a day to enthuse hundreds of people about how hormones rule our everyday lives? The Society for Endocrinology is looking for volunteers from all career stages to help out at the Big Bang Fair 2015. This is the biggest science and engineering education event in the UK where we will be delivering a range of hands-on activities suitable for audiences from primary school children to teenagers and family groups. Our exhibition is called Eat Sleep Wake Repeat and will focus on hormones and the circadian clock.
This is an excellent opportunity for Society members to hone their public engagement skills.
Details: The Big Bang Fair takes place at the NEC Birmingham from 11 – 14 March 2015. Volunteers must be able to travel to Birmingham within a day and can expect to work approximately 9 am – 5 pm in 1.5 h shifts. The Society for Endocrinology will provide a full briefing on activities, standard travel expenses and lunch on the day.
If you’d like to get involved then please email [email protected] by Friday 13 February.
