Added via University Positions. The Molecular Systems Physiology group was recently established at the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine. Its research focuses on using and developing state-of-art computational approaches to investigate the links between diet and human health.

It seeks a doctoral candidate (PhD student) with a Masters degree or equivalent in bioinformatics, systems biology, medical biochemistry, or a related discipline, to conduct a project involving:

  • Refinement and expansion of the most recent human metabolic model.
  • Interpretation of the computational modeling results with respect to metabolic disease states.
  • Integration and analysis of experimental data in the context of the human metabolic model.
  • Databases and literature mining for genomic and biochemical information.
  • Study the role of mitochondria in the development of Parkinsons disease.
  • Foster collaboration with the University of Manchester and the Manchester Centre for Integrative Systems Biology (MCISB).
