The Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is seeking a Director to lead a new Centre for Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism. The Director will lead a multidisciplinary team of highly successful investigators whose research spans the translational spectrum from laboratory to clinical to population-based studies.

The Director will provide vision to the research and training missions of the Center, and will lead efforts to develop programmatic areas of research. Strengths of the current programme revolve around type 2 diabetes and include a large portfolio of population-based studies, complications of diabetes, genetics, minority/health disparities research, and the cognition/diabetes interface. The Director will interact with other excellent research centres including the Nonhuman Primate Center, Wake Forest Institute of Regenerative Medicine, Sticht Center on Aging, Center for Genomics and Personalised Medicine, and the Comprehensive Cancer Center.

The Director will report to the Dean of the School of Medicine. It is expected that the Director will maintain an active research portfolio.
