Via healthjobsuk.com. An exciting position for a Band 6 Research Nurse has become available within the NE London Diabetes Research Network (NE Lon DRN). NELonDRN is directly funded by the Department of Health, through the National Institute of Health Research to facilitate research into diabetes and thereby improve health outcomes for people with diabetes. There are eight localities in England and NELonDRN is hosted at Barts & The London (BLT) on the Whitechapel site, although the network extends into South Essex. We are looking for another nurse to join our happy and experienced team to assist us with expansion into other local areas - so some community work will be required -although the successful candidate will be based at BLT.

There are a number of both clinical trials and academic studies to undertake both in hospital and in primary care, and the work is very varied and interesting. The successful candidate will be able to work autonomously after training, managing their own research workload and having professional contact with research patients, health professionals and user groups. In return for enthusiasm and hard work the position offers dedicated training support for its workforce and continuous professional development through a number of different educational opportunities. Further information can be found at the website below. The closing date for applications is 3 July 2009.
