Diabetes linked to increased risk of death after a heart attack

Research published in the Journal of the American Heart Association suggests that likelihood of death in patients hospitalised for acute myocardial infarction is over 50% higher in those who have diabetes. The study concludes that these patients are high-risk and need evidence-based treatment.
