Congratulations – National Academy of Sciences award for Society member

We are delighted to announce that Professor Steve O’Rahilly has been elected as a Foreign Associate of the National Academy of Sciences in the USA. The National Academy is the USA’s premier scientific academy. This is a prestigious honour indeed as, each year, it elects 72 new members and 18 Foreign Associates from all scientific disciplines.

Professor O’Rahilly is Professor of Clinical Biochemistry and Medicine, University of Cambridge; Co-Director of the Institute of Metabolic Science and Honorary Consultant Physician at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, He is distinguished for his research in metabolic and endocrine disease and for his leadership in clinical science.
