The MRC-ARUK Centre For Musculoskeletal Ageing Research is a joint venture between clinical physiologists and biomedical scientists in the universities of Birmingham and Nottingham.  Clinician Scientists with a strong track-record of research in musculoskeletal function, metabolic medicine or ageing are particularly suited to this post.

The opportunities within teaching include GEM and the wider curriculum management of the 4-yr and 5-yr medical courses.  The School would welcome applications from those with major interests in undergraduate medical education.

The appointee will be a senior clinical academic with proven leadership skills and strong track-record of research funding and outputs and/or educational achievements; an individual with the vision, energy and collaborative skills to enhance multidisciplinary research and high-quality teaching within the School of Medicine. Honorary NHS consultant contracts will be issued by Derby Hospitals Foundation trust.
