Via healthjobsuk.com. King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust are seeking a band 6/7 (depending on experience) Endocrine Nurse Specialist (pituitary). This is a genuine opportunity for an experienced nurse who wishes to develop their career in a challenging and very demanding speciality. You should be an inspirational practitioner with a ‘Can Do’ approach, who is able to generate and implement new ideas and ‘think outside of the box’. Ideally you should have a background in general medicine, endocrinology or neuro-surgery. You must have passion and enthusiasm in caring for patients. As an autonomous practitioner you will be expected to run your own clinics, supervise dynamic tests for your patient case-load and provide specialist nursing support to ward areas. Effective time management is an essential skill for this busy role. You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills at all levels both written and verbal. An interest in teaching is essential as a component of this role will be to develop the academic and educational side of our service. This will involve liaising with academic centres, developing formal teaching programmes and producing educational literature for patients and their carers.

Although some knowledge of endocrine disorders or neuroendocrine tumours would be advantageous, this is not essential as you will be supported in acquiring appropriate knowledge.
