Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow (Higher) in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes to commence as soon as possible for 12 months.
This post is to provide middle grade level clinical services with Consultant support as part of the Paediatric Endocrine and Diabetes team, including delivering outpatient clinics and day-time management of inpatients – working alongside two other middle grade colleagues (Spin Trainees in Paediatric Diabetes and/or GRID Trainee in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes).
Support for study leave will be given and participation in research and audit activities is strongly encouraged.
This post does not carry formal recognition for specialist training in Paediatrics, however the training opportunities are equal to those for our Specialist Registrars, and may contribute to your portfolio of training as described by the European Training Syllabus in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes.
In order to be considered applicants must meet the following essential criteria, and candidates should have passed MRCPCH and completed Core Paediatrics Training or equivalent, and have some experience in Paediatric Endocrinology/Diabetes.
The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.
