Clinical Fellow - General Paediatrics, London

Via www.healthjobsuk.com. Applications are invited for a Clinical Fellow in general paediatrics. The post will commence on 5 September 2011 for 6 months. The post is based in the new Evelina Children’s Hospital at St Thomas’ Hospital, London. The postholder will gain general paediatric and paediatric AED experience, and will undertake on-call at middle grade. Subspecialist experience can be offered in diabetes and endocrinology, haemoglobinopathy, infectious disease and allergy. Out-of-hours work will involve care of some tertiary subspecialty patients (nephrology, neurology and metabolic patients) as well as general paediatrics.

The postholder will be part of a team of 5 middle-grade doctors in general paediatrics, and will contribute to the team of 17 middle-grade doctors participating in the out-of-hours work. Duties are worked on a full shift system. Previous middle-grade experience is desirable but not essential, but applicants must have completed at least 2 years’ SHO-level paediatrics or equivalent, including 6 months of neonatology.
