In 2010, the World Health Organisation (WHO) updated its classification of neuroendocrine tumours (NETs) based on site of origin, grade, differentiation and clinical profile. Vélayoudom-Céphise and colleagues found that some grade 3 gastroenteropancreatic (GEP) NET cases still did not fit a profile. In their retrospective study, they argue that future classifications may consider distinguishing two subgroups of grade 3 GEPNETs according to their morphological differentiation status.
