This new post offers a comprehensive experience of clinical academic medicine in endocrinology, rheumatology, care of the elderly or other relevant specialty, working alongside internationally renowned clinicians and biologists. The successful applicant will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic clinical trainee interested in musculoskeletal ageing, wishing to excel in both clinical and academic training with the ambition to be amongst the next generation of leading academic clinicians.
The post will integrate with a multidisciplinary team of research clinicians and scientists with access to an array of laboratory techniques and advanced research tools to conduct high quality, clinically relevant research. A range of projects will be available to suit research interests, but these will be focussed around developing a better understanding of the mechanisms and treatments of musculoskeletal ageing.
The post is aimed at post-MRCP candidates with a demonstrable commitment to any speciality relevant to musculoskeletal ageing. The fellowship will provide research training in ageing research for one year to build a foundation for application to external agencies for funding to complete a PhD degree.
