Changes to ESPE Awards – deadline 10 December 2012

14 Nov 2012

As recently communicated separately to ESPE members, there have been some important changes to the nomination procedure for the ESPE Awards for 2013. Every year ESPE is proud to present to members five important and prestigious awards, kindly supported by Pfizer, in recognition of their teaching, research and contribution to paediatric endocrinology.

Andrea Prader Prize - the most prestigious ESPE senior award created to honour lifetime achievement in teaching and research and to recognise outstanding leadership and overall contribution to the field of paediatric endocrinology.

Outstanding Clinician Award - recognises outstanding clinical contribution to the practice of clinical paediatric endocrinology.

Research Award - presented in recognition of research achievements of outstanding quality in the fields of basic endocrine science or clinical paediatric endocrinology.

Young Investigator Awards - conferred to two young paediatricians, not older than 40 years of age by the end of the year in which the award is given, in recognition of his or her scientific publications.

ESPE International Award - awarded to an outstanding paediatric endocrinologist from a country outside Europe and the Mediterranean basin.

At the Annual Business Meeting in Leipzig, members voted to open up nominations for all these awards to be presented during the Joint Meeting of Paediatric Endocrinology in Milan 2013. This enables all ESPE members to nominate candidates for these awards each year. In order to allow sufficient time for the evaluation of all candidates, the deadline for nomination for ALL ESPE awards has been brought forward to 10 December 2012.

Please visit the appropriate web page for each award for information regarding eligibility, regulations and application procedure. Please do not hesitate to contact the ESPE Secretary General at [email protected] or the ESPE team at [email protected] if you have any questions about these awards.
