Calling all early-career scientists: funding for media workshops

13 Jan 2014

Every year, the Society for Endocrinology supports Voice of Young Science (VoYS), Sense About Science’s young scientist programme which encourages early career researchers to play an active role in public debates about science.

Five places are available for Student, Scientist-in-Training, Clinician-in-Training and Associate Members to attend the VoYS media workshop, Standing Up for Science, on Friday 14 March 2014 at the University of Manchester. To accompany the places, five SfE travel grants of up to £200 are available for attending the workshop. If you’re interested about the inner workings of the media, this event is an invaluable chance to learn from respected journalists, scientists and press officers from all around the country.

Please note that the workshop is open to early-career researchers (PhD, post-docs or equivalent in first job) only and is not open to undergraduates. The deadline for applications is Friday 21 February 2014.
