Call to members, from your Society’s President

06 Mar 2018

The Society for Endocrinology has been looking at its strategic goals to identify our key priorities over the next few years. Last year’s membership survey showed that the Society needs to do more work to recruit and retain the next generation of researchers, clinicians and nurses within our discipline. We now need your help. To identify what we can do to make the most difference in two specific areas, Council have set up two working groups for which we are seeking members:

  1. To look at how we best attract and then support research scientists within endocrinology. Chair: Eleanor Davies, General Secretary-Elect
  2. To further develop the concept of a new programme for early career members, that aims to recognise and nurture emerging talent, supporting the future leaders of endocrinology. Chair: Graham Williams, President

The aim of the working groups will be to consider a number of questions/ suggestions related to the above, and recommend to Council, in December 2018, a series of initiatives that the Society can implement. Working groups will primarily hold discussions throughout 2018 via teleconference, though may occasionally meet face to face. We are looking for all types of members at all career stages to take part.

If you would like to take part in either working group and would like further details, please email Laura Udakis, Director of Membership Engagement, by Monday 19 March.

Thanks for contributing to the future of your Society.
