Bisphosphonates worth taking despite tiny thigh fracture risk (Medical News Today, 4 May 2011)

Researchers from Linköping University, Sweden, have examined 1,234 X-rays from 1,271 fractures in women to find an increased risk of atypical fracture of the thigh in those taking bisphosphonates. The authors conclude that this increased risk is outweighed by the benefit that bisphosphonates confer in reducing the total risk of fractures.
