Biotechnology Young Entrepreneurs Scheme (YES) competition 2008

The Biotechnology YES, now in its 13th successful year, aims to promote awareness of commercialisation in postgraduate and postdoctoral scientists. This innovative scheme aims to raise participants' business awareness and highlight the process of commercialisation of bioscience research. Participants compete in teams to develop a hypothetical business idea with the help of expert mentors from the fields of biotech, finance and intellectual property. Workshops are held throughout the UK and feed into a national final where the prizes include £1000 and a trip to the USA for the winning team. The competition is free of charge, including travel, accommodation and meals for the duration of the workshops. The closing date for this year's competition is 27 June 2008.
