Biotechnology Young Entrepreneurs Scheme

06 Apr 2010

The Biotechnology Young Entrepreneurs Scheme (Biotechnology YES) is a competition aimed at early-career researchers designed to give postgraduate students and postdoctoral scientists an introduction to the commercialisation of bioscience ideas.

Biotechnology YES runs over three days, during which time participants will be given presentations by leading figures in the biotechnology industry. Participants will be grouped into teams and will be asked to use ideas from the presentations, as well as their own entrepreneurial skills, to form a hypothetical biotech start-up company. The teams will then present their business plan to a panel of experts taking the role of venture capitalists, who will decide on a winning presentation.

A prize of £1000 is awarded to the winners, and other prizes are also available. The deadline for applications to take part is 18 June 2010. Please follow the link below for more information.
