Over the next two months we are attending two public engagement events, through which we help raise public awareness of hormone sceince. We are looking for volunteers to help man the stands!
Our stands will include activities for all of the family to get involved with, including testing the level of glucose in an imiatation blood sample, and learning about circadian rhythm by creating your own body clock.
The two upcoming shows will be:
28 June: Big Bang Yorkshire & Humber
16 July: Lambeth Country Show, South London
We are currently looking for volunteers for both stands - so if either event suits your location or time commitments, please get in touch. We do not expect you to attend both.
It's a great day out - improve your science communication skills, tell people about what you do, meet other volunteers working in endocrinology and have a wander round. We will pay your travel to and from whichever show you are able to attend, and up to £20 worth of food expenses. And whilst our activities are simple, we'll give you a full run through before the show begins, so that you know the drill.
If you're interested in volunteering, please email me: [email protected]
