Be nominated by the Society for the Research Excellence Framework 2021 panel (1)

21 Jul 2020

This is your opportunity to be nominated by the Society for Endocrinology to get involved with the Research Excellence Framework 2021 as a Panel Member, if you are an academic faculty member.

The Research Excellence Framework (REF) is the UK’s system for assessing the excellence of research in higher education institutions. The REF outcomes are used to inform the allocation of around £2 billion per year of public funding for universities’ research.

The REF is carried out by expert panels made up of senior academics, international members, and research users. Panel Members benefit from:

  • Insight into current developments in research relevant to their professional lives.
  • Excellent networking opportunities with research leaders and senior professionals in private, public or third sectors.
  • An enhanced appreciation of the connections that can be made between researchers and stakeholders.
  • Increased understanding of the potential barriers to engagement with researchers and how to overcome them.
  • Opportunities to encourage better understanding of organisations’ research needs.
  • A chance to contribute to the allocation of public funds.

Further information about the full eligibility criteria and workload can be found on the REF website.

If you are eligible and would like to be considered for nomination by the Society for any of the REF 2021 expert panels, please complete this nomination form and send it to [email protected], by Friday 24 July.

If you are also being nominated by another organisation and have already completed a form, please send us a copy and ensure that you name the other organisation(s) in your email.
