The Society for Endocrinology is offering you the opportunity to put your questions about the future of UK science to science policy-makers at Voice of the Future 2016 taking place at the House of Commons on Tuesday 1 March 2016.
We have up to four places to allocate to Student Members and Early Career Endocrinologists who submit questions that are relevant to the future of endocrinology. These individuals will be invited to represent the Society at the event with travel expenses paid.
Voice of the Future 2016 gives early career scientists an opportunity to put forward questions to the Science and Technology Committee and leading figures dealing with science in Parliament and Government. The Speaker of the House of Commons is hoping to launch VOF 2016.
The format of Voice of the Future 2016 will be similar to a regular select committee and is an invaluable opportunity for you to participate in parliamentary activities whilst learning more about how science policy is formed. Regardless of the career path you wish to follow, attending this event could be a prestigious addition to your CV. You can read about the experience of one of our members who took part in last year’s event in The Endocrinologist (page 25).
To take part, please email your question to [email protected] by Wednesday 27 January.
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted soon afterwards. Questions should not be too scientific (we are not testing the scientific knowledge of MPs) but related to science policy.
Please note, for logistical reasons during the event, the questions chosen for answer may not be asked by the individuals who originally submitted them. There is also a possibility that not every question will be asked. However, only those who submitted the chosen questions will be invited to personally attend the event.
Closing date to submit a question: 27 January 2016
