Are you affiliated with a patient support group?

If so, let them know about the launch of two Society for Endocrinology grants to fund patient group projects and training:

Patient Support Grants: Patient groups providing endocrine-based information and support may now apply for up to £4000 from the Society to fund specific projects. In the past these grants have funded the production of patient information leaflets, abstract books at joint professional-patient conferences, and an information video for children, among other exciting initiatives.

Telephone Helpline Grants: To help patient groups ensure that their volunteers are trained and supported in their work, the Society for Endocrinology provides smaller grants to fund places on training courses with the Helplines Partnership (previously the Telephone Helplines Association), and to cover travel expenses to attend such courses.

For information on eligibility criteria and how to apply, please see each grant website (linked above). The deadline for receipt of applications to either grant is 19 February 2014. Applying for one of these grants does not affect a group's eligibility to apply for the other.
