The Institute of Psychiatry at King's College London is currently recruiting for 2 individuals educated to Masters level to join the South London Diabetes Cohort (SOUL-D) study looking into the effects of depression in 2000 newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes patients.
The 3 year PhD studentships are titled 'The role of inflammation in the course of depression in type 2 diabetes', which lookis into a possible link between depression, the innate immune response and type 2 diabetes, and 'Epidemiology of depression in diabetes: identifying risk factors, mechanisms, course and consequences', which will look into the risk factors behind depression and how this develops and impacts upon wider health.
