According to a study published in Nature, a new method of detecting hypertension-causing aldosterone has been successful in a within-patient clinical trial. Using metomidate, a short-acting dye which binds to the aldosterone nodule, this scan method is less invasive but equally as effective as adrenal vein sampling, the current standard method.
