Intermittent fasting shows short-term weight loss and other health benefits

An umbrella review published in JAMA Network Open of meta-analyses on a range of intermittent fasting regimes found that the 5:2 and alternate-day fasting regimes were most effective in producing short-term weight loss and improving health outcomes, though long -term effects are unknown.
